I'm writing to tell you about a very special online auction next week —- an annual findraiser for the artist-run gallery in Seattle’s Pioneer Square I joined last fall. I encourage you to support this non-profit centre that promotes the work of so many people by bidding on a work of art for a fraction of the original price. Please find more information about the artwork I have contributed below the notice.
PULP EVENT: A SILENT AUCTION, CELEBRATION and FUND RAISER FOR GALLERY 110
Wednesday and Thursday July 1st & 2nd next week

All 26 artists have contributed works on paper or made-with paper (watercolors, collages, drawings, paper sculpture etc.). Excellent art will be available at a fraction of its usual exhibition price. The works are split into two lots and auctioned on different evenings at the downtown Seattle gallery site. However, the silent auction is accessible online and by phone until late afternoon on July 1. You can start your bid low... and you may get a work for a nice low price....or short-circuit the auction process by bidding immediately to the top possible bid: $500.
The exhibition is exclusively for works on paper. I have contributed enthusiastically because I exhibited art only on “pulp” (pen & ink drawings, etchings and watercolors) during my first 20 years as an artist. My main contribution is this large watercolor of Rocamador, a beautiful village in the mountains above the Dordogne Valley, France.

I have also contributed three watercolor paintings to this show: one a lovely work done from high on a windswept hill on Patmos, one of my favorite Greek islands & two smaller, more sedate watercolor seascapes of the British Columbia sea that are almost abstractions.
