TWO HAVENS
Thank you to all those folks who came to see my Two Havens exhibition last month. It was wonderful to meet new people and learn something about their lives – meanwhile answering their questions about the “how” and “why” of my journey as an artist. It was an equally great joy to have the chance to visit with old friends and catch up on their news, adventures and future plans.

You can peruse additional photos of the installation.

The show’s success was a direct result of the contributions of many friends and colleagues. Yukiko Onley repainted the Visual Space Gallery walls and floor before I brought my work in – a pleasure to start with a pristine space. George Brandt, Founder and Curator of Gallery 110 in Seattle, travelled North to curate my show. His choice of groupings and spacing proved very appealing to those who attended. The frames by Graham Warren were frequently admired for enhancing the paintings. Installation by Moses Thiessen & Co. of Thiessen Art Services was immaculate. Michael Abraham, my fellow artist, carefully adjusted the lights to flatter each work. Thank you all!

PENDULUM GALLERY
Two of my darker, figurative paintings were accepted into PASSION, REASON, IDIOCY, the Culture Crawl’s 2025 special juried exhibit November 6-30 at the Pendulum Gallery, across the street from the Vancouver Art Gallery. If you are downtown during November, please drop in and see the exhibition.

STUDIO 1610
If you regret missing Two Havens, I have reinstalled my Studio 1610 standing exhibition to include many works from the show. I will be welcoming all interested to studio visits, beginning November 1.

You might choose to come during the Eastside Culture Crawl (ESCC):
Thursday November 20 & Friday November 21, 5-10 PM
Saturday November 22 and Sunday November 23, 11-6 PM

Alternatively, given the ESCC is hectic and I likely will be distracted, plan to come during one of the three ESCC Previews I have scheduled for my Studio on:
Saturday November 8, 11 AM – 4 PM
Sunday November 9, 11 AM – 4 PM
Sunday November 16, 11 AM – 4 PM

That way I will be able to visit with you and hear of your doings. Please let me know when I might expect you. If the days above don’t work for you, let’s book some other day/time in November when we can visit in the studio – haughton-art@shaw.ca
